Fernando Pacheco – mixed media artist
It started out with creating homemade Halloween decorations with his mother in the 80s. Through the years, Fernando kept clipping quirky and compelling images from newspapers and magazines to create birthday cards for friends.
In 2015, he began creating hand-cut collages on the back on magazine subscription cards. Since then his collages have been featured in various art shows in Honolulu’s Chinatown arts district. His work has also been used by bands and podcasts.
In 2020, Pacheco expanded his expression by integrating watercolor paintings and pencil sketches into his creative tool belt. Based on his mood and environment, Pacheco swings the pendulum back and forth between pop art, natural landscape and surrealism.
Fernando’s art pieces have been featured in the following art shows:
- NextDoor First Friday Art Show (Honolulu) – September 2018
- Ka ‘Ike O Ka Moana: The Knowledge of the Ocean (Honolulu) – June 2018
- Cosmic Collage: A collection of life in space (Honolulu) – June 2017
- Ka ‘Ike O Ka Moana: The Knowledge of the Ocean (Honolulu) – June 2016
